Solid throughout, not plated

Solid 14K gold - 58.5% pure gold alloyed for strength, stamped and hallmarked. Not plated, not filled, not vermeil. A plated piece wears through to base metal within a few years of daily use; solid gold does not, which is why it can be passed down rather than replaced.

14K is the standard for jewelry meant to be worn constantly. It holds a setting more securely than 18K and resists scratching better, while keeping the warmth and colour of higher-karat gold.

Caring for gold

Put your jewelry on last, after perfume, lotion and hairspray. Remove it before swimming, showering or exercise - chlorine dulls gold over time. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild soap and a soft brush, then dry completely. Store in the pouch provided so pieces do not scratch each other.

  2. Wrap it snugly around the base of your finger, making sure it can still slide comfortably over your knuckle.
