Confirm the fit for the design you want
The number is only part of the decision. Rings differ in their band shape, width, and the way the design sits on the hand. A sizing check is most useful when you show the jeweler or Tyferet the actual ring you are considering, rather than asking for a number without that context.
Look at the band as well as the face
A ring's decorative face can be broad while the band beneath it is narrower. Conversely, a band can cover more of the finger around its circumference. Look at side and angled photographs, and distinguish the face dimensions from the band measurements in the product details.
The gallery's Star of David Eternal Ring shows a broad band with openwork around it. The Olive Branch Timeless Ring follows a much slimmer organic line. Use the contrast to explain the sort of fit you are considering when asking for sizing help. Do not automatically add a half size for every wider-looking design: the appropriate fit needs to be assessed for the ring and your finger.
Treat improvised methods as estimates
String or paper can give a rough circumference, but the result depends on how tightly you wrap it, whether the material stretches, and how accurately you mark and read it. It also does not reproduce a rigid ring passing over the knuckle. If you use this method, compare repeated readings and confirm the result with a ring sizer.
Printed charts need a scale check. Follow the guide's printing instructions and verify its reference measurement with a ruler before comparing a ring against printed circles. A page printed with a fit-to-page setting, or a circle displayed at an arbitrary screen size, can make an otherwise careful comparison misleading.
Confirm the option you are ordering
Open the chosen ring's Size Guide and check which sizing system and measurements it uses. Select the intended size on that product page and review it again in the cart. A size label from another retailer or country should be compared through measurements, rather than assumed to mean the same thing.
If this is a gift and you do not have a reliable size, asking the recipient or arranging a fitting can be part of the gift itself. For a personal piece of Jewish jewelry, getting the fit right is worth making room for in the plan.
Understand resizing before relying on it
Tyferet's current policy offers one complimentary resize within 90 days of delivery, subject to its conditions and written approval before return. The stated limit is one full size up or down. Resizing labor is covered; shipping both ways, insurance, and applicable duties or taxes are the customer's responsibility. The ring must meet the policy's condition requirements, including no third-party alteration.
Read the full policy and contact us about the exact ring before treating resizing as a fallback. Start with the ring collection, choose the design, and confirm your fit while you are still choosing. That is a better foundation for a piece you want to wear often.
